I came across Dan McCarthy’s web page and saw these amazing paintings and it instantly made me think about my previous post on reincarnation.

when did yoga become evil?

February 28, 2009 · Leave a Comment

yoga

Just last night my boyfriend comes from church (he is Maronites Christian currently attending a catholic church here in Qatar) and apparently they are teaching them that YOGA is EVIL! Sighhhhhhhhhh. My boyfriend stated that the preacher said yoga was evil because it leads into meditation which leads into other forms of practice. I practice yoga and I also practice meditation, I do not believe that YOGA IS EVIL, I do not believe that the origin of YOGA is evil. I am just upset that the spiritual (religious) teacher at the church would teach this to the congregation. I am not sure how I can explain to him what I practice is not bad or the origin of yoga. Can I please have some input on this? Sighhhhh

History student!

Joke of the Day

It was the first day of a school in USA for a new Indian student named
Chandrasekhar Subramanian entering the fourth grade.
The teacher said, “Let’s begin by reviewing some American History. Who said ‘Give me Liberty
or give me Death’?”

She saw a sea of blank faces, except for Chandrasekhar, who had his hand
up: ‘Patrick Henry, 1775′ he said.
‘Very good!’

Who said ‘Government of the People, by the People,
for the People, shall not perish from the Earth?’
Again, no response except from Chandrasekhar.
‘Abraham Lincoln, 1863′ said Chandrasekhar.

The teacher snapped at the class, ‘Class, you
should be ashamed. Chandrasekhar, who is new to our country, knows more
about its history than you do.’
She heard a loud whisper: ‘F*ck the Indians,’
‘Who said that?’ she demanded. Chandrasekhar put his hand up. ‘General
Custer, 1862.’

At that point, a student in the back said, ‘I’m gonna puke.’
The teacher glares around and asks ‘All right!
Now, who said that?’ Again, Chandrasekhar says, ‘George Bush to the
Japanese Prime Minister, 1991.’
Now furious, another student yells, ‘Oh yeah? Suck this!’
Chandrasekhar jumps out of his chair waving his hand
and shouts to the teacher , ‘Bill Clinton, to Monica Lewinsky, 1997!’
Now with almost mob hysteria someone said ‘You little sh*t. If you say
anything else, I’ll kill you.’
Chandrasekhar frantically yells at the top of his voice, Michael ‘ Jackson
to the child witnesses testifying against him- 2004.’
The teacher fainted..

And as the class gathered around the teacher on the floor, someone said,
‘Oh sh*t, we’re screwed!’

And Chandrasekhar whispered quietly, “the Republicans, November 4th, 2008″

I want a different ending!

I’m thinking about changing the ending to my story Love vs Religion. Isn’t true we can always change things if we don’t like it?

Tea Time

February 24, 2009 · Leave a Comment

japanese-tea-cupI got three cute tea cups from a friend of mine (he drinks tea with me everyday around 2 or 3pm tea time for us) well, one of the tea cups leak,I told him that it was the heat coming from the cup. I can’t see where the leak is coming from, but I can see the liquid that it leaves on the desk. Seems like he always end up with the cup that leaks. Well this morning while making tea at my desk I chose the one that leaks. I think its cute that it leaks slowly, Makes me focus on the tea more. ;)
