I’m reading Brida by Paulo Coelho) and I’m reminded about my trip to Spain and how I decided to take a long walk one day on the Camion De Santiago. Well, I had been walking singing enjoying every moment I was completely in the Now. And I had got to a certain part where there were lots of bushes and trees I could here animals in the bushes; I didn’t feel the presence of another human anywhere I didn’t hear the highway and I got somewhat afraid I realized that if some wild animal had come out of there what would I do. I noticed the sun was starting to set and I asked myself ‘how long had I been walking, it’s a long ways back, maybe you should turn around.’ I wanted dearly to make it to the top, so I could look down and rejoice. Well I made it to the top but I was so concerned about making it back to the town of Puenta La Reina where my hotel room was that I missed out on something very important! I made it to the top and rushed all the way back walking as fast as possible.

Still thinking about that…..

Now I am thinking about how I had the chance to walk the Camino the entire Camino and I had too many excuses (maybe I wasn’t mentally ready maybe I didn’t have the courage to leave behind material baggage so many maybes). Sighhhhh
